Flames early Sunday morning destroyed American Legion Post 322 in Mapleton. The fire is believe to have gotten its start around 4am Sunday, and fortunately at that time, there was no one inside and so nobody was hurt. The blaze did however, totally destroy the building and all the memorabilia inside it. State police fire marshals arrived Monday morning to try to determine the cause of the fire, but at this time it still remains “undetermined.”
