For this week’s selection of “Local Song of the Week,” we spotlight western PA-based singer and songwriter Alyssa Hankey, whose music airs frequently on Q94’s “Homegrown Rocker.” Alyssa has been making her mark and building a strong fan base throughout western and central PA and beyond with her hearty brand of blue collar-themed folk and blues. On this number from her “American Spirit” album, the reflective “1968,” Alyssa explores the mood and sentiments of a turbulent America during a chaotic time period.
