On Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did another about face, and recommended that areas showing substantial or high rates of COVID-19 transmission return to masking indoors… and now the recommendation applies to people regardless of vaccination status. That has many now questioning the whole vaccination thing…. saying if vaccines do what we have been told they do, then why do healthy/vaccinated individuals have to wear a mask?? Here in Pennsylvania, most of the state is considered to be in either low or moderate transmission status, with just two of the state’s 67 counties showing high rates of transmission and five counties with substantial transmission. The high-rate counties are Crawford and Cameron counties, and the substantial-rate counties are Adams, Lawrence, Wyoming, Monroe and Northampton. The CDC also recommended that everyone in K-12 schools wear masks regardless of vaccination status as well. But Governor Tom Wolf’s office has already said they would not require that of Pennsylvania students.
