We spotlight a song that recently debuted on the “Homegrown Rocker” for this week’s “Local Song of the Week.” Pittsburgh’s SuperMonkey is a recording artist, guitarist, singer, producer and record label owner, and tours throughout the eastern U.S. as a three-piece band. “Elisa Bonita” is about a girl that singer and guitarist Christian Groblewski meets on a Cleveland street. The song is produced by Dave Hillis, whose previous credits include engineering Pearl Jam’s “Ten,” and assisting on recordings by Temple of the Dog and Alice in Chains. This is the first of eight new singles that SuperMonkey will release over the next few months, to be followed by a vinyl recording.
