Backyard Beats Listing 9/3: Labor Day Weekend Festivals, PA Roundhouse Rally and More!

Here is a listing of area live music and online music happenings for the weekend and week of Friday, September 3 through Thursday, September 9.

Labor Day weekend is here, and returning this year are the Labor Day weekend festivals that were scuttled last year due to COVID-19. The Johnstown area hosts three different festivals this weekend, each with live music.

The Cambria City Ethnic Festival in Johnstown’s Cambria City neighborhood kicks off on Friday evening and lasts through Sunday. Churches and other venues along and near Chestnut Street will provide a variety of ethnic and other foods, drinks, vendors, children’s activities, church tours; and live music will happen on at least five different stages. Check the listing below for the Ethnic Festival live music schedules.

The Log House Arts Festival also happens on Saturday and Sunday at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County near Westmont. Arts and crafts will be the primary feature, along with food and refreshments, and live music both days. Again see the listing below for more details.

And the annual Forest Hills Festival takes place from Saturday through Monday at the Berwind Wayside Park in St. Michael (north of Johnstown). This festival too will have plenty of arts and crafts vendors, food and refreshments, children’s activities, a fireworks display on Sunday night, and live music all three days. Check the listing below to see who is on the stage each day.

The Blair County Game, Fish & Forestry Association in Riggles Gap will again present the annual Ox Roast Festival on Saturday and Sunday. Featured will be arts and crafts vendors, tasty ox roast sandwiches and other food from the kitchen, and live music both days.

And the PA Roundhouse Rally takes place on Friday and Saturday at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson near Duncansville, and will feature musical entertainment both days, along with food and other vendors, and motorcycle runs both Saturday and Sunday. See the listing below for the live music information.

These festivals and events, along with numerous venues throughout the area, will provide lots of live and local music options to consider for your Labor Day weekend pleasure. So browse the listing below, and SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC!
