“Homegrown Rocker” Playlist/Recap 11/7/21

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the November 7 edition of “The Homegrown Rocker,” which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on Q94 Classic Rock!

We welcomed band guests on the program this week, as Paul Guerrini, Paul Cha and Cody Lemmons of western PA-based rockers Black Ridge joined us in the studio! We learned Black Ridge’s story and discussed their career, music and high-energy live show, plus heard songs from their latest two EP’s! In addition, we debuted new songs from The Jaded Lips and Welcome 2 Earth, updated “Local Music News,” dug a 2003 number by Altoona’s Silver Sunday from the archive for a “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed August Winters’ The Lion The Reaper album in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” (For those who missed the program, a four-part podcast of this show is available for listening or download from Q94’s website, www.q94classicrock.com. Click on “The Professor’s Classroom,” and then scroll down to “Homegrown Rocker Podcast” and look for the four show segments marked with the date, 110721.)

An event spotlighting local original acoustic music will take place later this month. The first installment of “Lyrics in Liberty: The Singer-Songwriter Series” will happen on Saturday evening, November 20, inside the Liberty Hall of the U.S. Hotel in Hollidaysburg. Local singers and songwriters Matt Wagner, Conner Gilbert, Dylan Miller and Chet Denny will each perform their original songs in a songwriter round format, with each performer doing one song followed by the next performer, rotating through rounds throughout the event. Each will share insights about their songs and creative processes. The event begins at 8 p.m., and admission will be $5 per person.
