A woman died Monday while shoveling snow, according to Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees. The 53-year-old woman was shoveling snow around 12:30 p.m. and had a medical emergency. Lees says she later died at the emergency room from a stress-induced heart attack. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, shoveling snow can be a strenuous activity, particularly because cold weather can be taxing on the body. They suggest taking frequent breaks and scooping small amounts of snow at a time.
