A MAN WHO POINTED A GUN AT AN OFFICER FOLLOWING A TRAFFIC STOP WAS SENTENCED TO PRISON YESTERDAY.
THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTED THAT 34 YEAR OLD WILLIS CLARK WAS GIVEN 8-16 YEARS IN PRISON AFTER HIS PLEA AGREEMENT TO CHARGES OF POINTING A GUN AT THE OFFICER WHO TRIED TO STOP HIM AND HIS GIRLFRIEND AFTER AN ACCIDENT WAS ACCEPTED BY THE COURT. THE OFFICER SAW THE COUPLE GET OUT AND TRY AND RUN. HE USED A TASER TO STOP THE FEMALE, THEN SAW CLARK HOLDING A GUN. THE OFFICER FIRED HIS WEAPON, WOUDING CLARK. THE OFFICER THEN RENDERED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE UNTIL PARAMEDICS AND OTHER OFFICERS ARRIVED. CLARK WAS SENT TO PRISON ON CHARGES INCLUDING DRUG AND WEAPONS VIOLATIONS, ALONG WITH AGGRAVATED ASSAULT OF A POLICE OFICER.
