THE MAN ACCUSED OF CAUSING A POLICE STANDOFF HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED.
NEWS REPORTS INDICATE THAT JOHNSTOWN POLICE IDENTIFIED 24 YEAR OLD KEYSHAUN COOKS AS THE SUSPECT WHO HELD A WOMAN AND HER BABY HOSTAGE EARLIER THIS WEEK. POLICE SAY THAT COOKS ALLEGEDLY BROKE INTO THE WOMAN’S HOME AND HELD A GUN TO HER HEAD, WHERE HE THEN BARRICADED HIMSELF INSIDE AND KEPT THE WOMAN AND HER CHILD AS HOSTAGES. AFTER 5 HOURS, COOKS SURRENDERED TO POLICE AND THEY FOUND A GUN INSIDE. COOKS WAS ALSO WANTED ON A WARRANT FROM CUMBERLAND COUNTY FOR VEHICULAR HOMICIDE. HE IS BEING HELD AT THE CAMBRIA COUNTY JAIL ON $500,000 BAIL. NO ONE WAS HURT DURING THE STANDOFF.
