IT LOOKS LIKE THE ENTIRE STATE OF PA IS ON BOARD WITH JOINING THE LAWSUIT CONCERNING THE OPIOID CRISIS.

IN A REPORT OUT OF HARRISBURG THIS WEEK, ALL 67 PA COUNTIES HAVE NOW SIGNED UP FOR THIER SHARE OF A $26 BILLION SETTLEMENT THAT SHOWED OPIOIDS CAUSED THE DEATHS OF THOUSANDS OF PA RESIDENTS, AS WELL AS IN OTHER STATES. THE REPORT INDICATES THAT PA COULD RECEIVE SOME $232 MILLION THIS YEAR AS THEIR PART OF THE SETLEMENT. IN 2021, THE REPORT SAYS THAT 14 PA RESIDENTS DIED EVERY DAY DUE TO ADDICTION TO OPIOIDS. OVERALL, PA OFFICIALS ARE SAYING THEY EXPECT THE STATE TO RECEIVE JUST OVER $1 BILLION OF THE MONEY. PA AND 12 OTHER STATES JOINED FORCES TO BRING ABOUT THE LAWSUIT AND EVENTUAL SETTLEMENT.
