A CONVICTED DRUG KINGPIN SERVING TIME IN STATE PRISON CONTINUES TO FIGHT HIS SENTENCE.
THE ALTOONA MIRROR REPORTS THAT CHARLES BELLON HAS FILED ANOTHER PETITION WITH THE COURT OF COMMON PLEAS IN BLAIR COUNTy SAYING THAT HIS SENTENCE AMOUNTS TO CUREL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT. BELLON WAS CONVICTED FOR RUNNING A CRACK COCAINE DRUG RING IN ALTOONA FROM 1997 THROUGH 2002. BELLON CLAIMS THAT HE WAS UNFAILRY CHARACTERIZED AS THE LEADER OF THE DRUG RING, WHILE HE CLAIMED THAT THE TRUE LEADER WAS A MAN NAMED NORMAN RANSOM OF PHILADELPHIA, WHO IS SERVING 7.5-15 YEARS FOR THE SAME CRIMES. BELLON ALSO FILED COMPLAINTS IN COURT THAT HIS ATTORNEYS HAVE BEEN INEFFECTIVE FOR YEARS. HE IS SERVING 31-46 YEARS IN PRISON.
