NEWS REPORTS INDICATE THAT FIREFIGTHTERS WERE CALLED OUT TO A HOUSE FIRE ON THE 500 BLOCK OF KISSEL AVEUNE MONDAY MORNING. FLAMES COULD BE SEEM COMING OUT OF ONE SIDE OF THE HOUSE, BUT FIREFIGHTERS WORKED QUICKLY TO PUT THE FLAMES OUT. ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF JUSTIN SMITHMYER SAID THAT SINCE A BEDROOM DOOR WAS CLOSED, IT SLOWED DOWN THE PROGRESSION OF THE FIRE, AND KEPT IT FROM SPREADING, WHICH WOULD HAVE CAUSED SIGNIFICANTLY MORE DAMAGE THAN IT HAD ALREADY DONE. DAMAGE WAS CONTAINED TO A SMALL AREA INSIDE THE HOUSE. NO ONE WAS HOME AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE, AND THE CAUSE IS UNDETERMINED.
