Penn State Loses BIG Bucks

IN A REPORT BY WTAJ, THE UNIVERSITY REPORTED THAT BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC AND THE EMPTY SEATS AT BEAVER STADIUM FOR THE 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON, THE SCHOOL LOST SOME $24 MILLION IN REVENUE. FOR THE 20-21 ACADEMIC YEAR, PENN STATE BROUGHT IN $106.1 MILLON, WHILE EXPENSES TOTALLED SLIGHLTY MORE THAN $130 MILLION. THE SCHOOL, LIKE MANY ACROSS THE COUNTRY LOST TICKET, CONCESSION AND PARKING REVENUES ALONG WITH TELEVISION MONIES THAT ARE GENERATED BY FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL. AND SINCE FANS RETURNED FOR 2021-22, THE ATHLETIC DEPT SAYS THAT ITS BUDGET SHOULD RETURN TO NORMAL.
