IN A TELEVISION NEWS REPORT, CENTRE COUNTY GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS SAY THEY WANT TO DISTANCE THEMSELVES FROM ALL OF THE COUNTY’S RUSSIAN INVESTMENTS. THE REPORT INDICATES THAT THE COUNTY HAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF JUST OVER $182,000 IN RETIREMENT FUNDS ALLOCATED TO RUSSIA. COMMISSIONER MARK HIGGINS SAID SIMPLY HE DOESN’T WANT TO BE FUNDING THE WAR AGAINST UKRAINE. THE MONEY WILL BE REINVESTED WITH FINANCIAL MANAGERS THAT DO NOT INVEST IN OR WITH RUSSIA.THE COUNTY FINANCIAL ADVISOR WILL MEET WITH COMMISSIONERS AND THE CONTROLLER TOMORROW TO DISCUSS ALTERNATIVES.
