IN A REPORT BY WTAJ, THE COMMISSIONERS HAVE DECIDED TO ADVERTISE FOR LOCAL RESTAURANTS TO BE ON CALL IF AND WHEN THE COUNTY IS FACED WITH ANOTHER SITUATION LIKE THE PANDEMIC. FOOD PREPARATION AT THE COUNTY JAIL WAS HALTED ONCE THE PANDEMIC HIT, BECUASE WORKERS BECAME ILL WITH COVID, WHICH LEFT THE COUNTY WITH A HUGE PROBLEM. NOW THE COMMISSIONERS WILL SEEK OUT LOCAL RESTAURANTS TO POSSIBLY PROVIDE MEALS FOR THE PRISON IF THAT HAPPENS AGAIN. ADVERTISING FOR THOSE POTENTIAL RESTAURANT PARTNERS WILL BEGIN NEXT WEEK. BIDS WILL BE TAKEN, AND THE APPLICANTS WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE A COST PER MEAL ESTIMATE.
