WTAJ reports a local businessman in the community, Bob Snyder, has gathered enough signatures for a petition to get the question put on the may 17th primary ballot. Snyder owns a community corner store and says that people who come to Shanksville to enjoy the lakes, ask if they can purchase beer. Now there will be the opportunity for residents to give Snyder and other store owners the opportunity to sell beer and liquor. If approved, the next step would be for those interested to apply for a liquor license. Snyder says he feels it will be a close vote among residents to approve or reject his idea.
