In a report by WJAC, the state house passed a bill that would prohibit males from switching over to play female sports in school. The bill passed with a 115-84 margin in the house, and now goes to the senate for consideration. Sponsor of the bill, Rep Barb Gliem of Cumberland County says that sports is not about your gender identity, but about your ability to compete. Democrat Austin David of Allegheny County denounced the bill as being hateful to transgenders, to the point of it coming down to winning political points. Rep Valerie Gaydos said allowing transgenders to play girls sports will destroy fair competition for girls. Governor veto (Wolf) said he will veto the bill.
