A report in the Altoona Mirror by the Associated Press indicates the senate voted 29-20 to stop the practice of using ballot drop off boxes to collect mail in ballots. Republicans say that the law enacted in 2019 was not legally done by the Legislature, rather was created by the courts. Democrats fired back, stating that the supreme court was within its purview to create the drop boxes. Republicans say that the drop boxes provide an opportunity for people to vote more than once, while democrats say that this move is an attempt to limit voting access to certain voters. Governor veto (wolf) says that he is against the bill.
