A report by the Associated Press indicates that the state system of higher education’s board of governors has voted not to increase tuition for students for the new 22-23 school year. This is the 4th consecutive year that tuition will remain at current levels. Nearly 90,000 students are currently enrolled in the state school system. One member of the board stated that this is not the time to increase tuition. However, there could be an increase later this year, if the schools don’t get sufficient funding from Harrisburg. The state system is asking for $550 million from the state, along with $200 million in student aid and $75 million from the federal govt. In state undergrad students are paying $7700 in tuition costs.
