WTAJ reported that brothers Jeffry and Robert Bowman have given the school a gift of $250,000. The money will go to the Robert and Virginia Bowman scholarship fund for Rail Transportation engineering. The money will help students who enroll in the RTE Program at Penn State Altoona. Jeff Bowman said that his family believes in the RTE program, and the money will help ensure his parents legacy. Robert Bowman worked his entire life in the Altoona railroad industry. Chancellor Lori Bechtel-Wherry thanked the bowman family for their generosity, stating that the school is grateful for the donation and for the help that RTE students will receive financially.
