A report in the Altoona Mirror suggested that Gov to Wolf’s office will not release the names of potential candidates for the seat left open with the retirement of judge Dan Milliron last December. The only information reported by the Mirror is that there is a potential list of between 5-7 candidates who may be vying for the seat. That vacancy will be filled when gov wolf chooses a candidate, and that candidate is approved by the full senate. Sen. Judy ward told the mirror that she has met with 7 potential candidates, and commissioner Laura Burke has spoken to 5 or 6 candidates who may be interested. Judge Milliron is still working on a part time basis as a senior judge.
