According to State Police, they arrested 33 year old Robert Shomo after a woman told troopers he tried to rape her and threatened to shoot her during a violent domestic argument. The victim told police she and Shomo argued when he refused to let her leave the residence. She then told police Shomo threw her to the ground, attempted to rape her, then tried to strangle her. Shomo is then accused of getting hold of a gun belonging to the victim and threatening to shoot her. Police arrived and took Shomo into custody without any further incident. He is charged with felony attempted rape, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, strangulation and making terroristic threats, along with drug paraphenalia possession. He is locked up in the Clearfield County jail on $200,000 bail.
