News reports suggest that the wife of embattled D.A Jeff Thomas now says she was not assaulted by her husband, as previously reported. During a court hearing on Friday, Amy Thomas told the court she sustained injuries that were documented by police in a car accident, and not at the hands of her husband. It was originally thought that the couple had fought and Thomas allegedly physically assaulted his wife, but now she says that is not the case. Thomas is facing rape charges from an assault of a Windber woman last year. Thomas is under house arrest while he awaits his trial.
