News reports from past meetings indicate that the board is mulling over a 4.9% increase in property taxes to try and pare dow2n a budget deficit. With the increase, the district is set to reel in some $950,000 in new revenues. The average homeowner will see an increase of about $30 per $100,000 of assessed value. However, according to a WTAJ report, people who have assessed values of less than $133,000 will not see an increase thanks to changes in the homestead act. Taxes haven’t gone up since the 2017-18 school year, when the board voted to build a brand new high school building. The final vote is expected this month.
