State police there report that the unidentified 70 year old driver of the van apparently suffered a medical emergency while transporting children. The driver passed out, lost control of the van and crashed into a tree head on. Troopers at the scene reported that the van actually struck 2 trees before coming to rest. 10 children and 2 adults on the bus all were injured and were taken to area hospitals with various injuries. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. State police are investigating, but will need the autopsy report to confirm what happened. The accident occurred on rt 580 in green twp just before 8 am Monday.
