A television news report indicates that people who purchased Freshpet Dog Food in 12 states including Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico are to dispose of that product. The recall is for 4.5 lb bags of Freshpet select fresh from the kitchen brand dog food, specifically home cooked chicken recipie. The food is possibly contaminated with salmonella and should not be given to dogs or handled by people. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramping. If your pet has already eaten this product, you are urged to take your dog to the vet. No other products made by freshpet are involved.
