A report by WTAJ indicates that State Treasurer Stacy Garrity has announced the guaranteed savings plan account where all account holders will receive a free $100 deposit. The GSP is intended to help families save for college tuition. In order to get this money, accounts must already have a minimum of $100 in contributions before the end of the month. The state reports that there are nearly 110,000 pa 529 GSP accounts, with more than $2.2 billion in savings for post secondary education.
