Television news and police reports indicate that the multi vehicle accident happened yesterday along a 10 mile stretch of interstate 80 near the Pennfield exit in the westbound lanes. The extent of injuries and exactly how many vehicles were involved is still not known at this time. The westbound lanes between exits 101 and 111 were closed for quite some time yesterday. The Clearfield County coroner was called to then scene. Kim Shaffer Snyder could not confirm the number of fatalities. State police are investigating the accident and will release more information when it becomes available.
