The National Desk reported that Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer and some of his fellow democrats including senators Corey Booker and Ron Wyden have introduced a 296 page bill that would legalize marijuana across America. The bill known as the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act apparently has been on the table for a year. The main portion of the bill would remove marijuana from the controlled substances list. Democrats in Washington say that public support for this legislation has been growing, and 19 states have already approved pot for recreational use. The bill turns around and provides funding for police depts to deal with illegal pot growing operations. The bill doesn’t seem too popular with older republicans in the senate.
