In a report by the Associated Press, Penn State, Pitt, Temple and Lincoln Universities have all approved tuition increases for the coming school year. This week, 4 republican house members asked the schools to rescind those hikes because of the $40 million promised to them by Governor Wolf. Wolf made the announcement this week that he was giving that money to the 4 schools from American Rescue Plan funds. Now lawmakers are asking these institutions to take out the tuition increases that are planned. The $40 million is on top of their annual state allocated money they receive from Harrisburg, but is not tied to the state budget.
