In a TV news report, Rep. Frank Burns of the 72nd district announced the million dollar award to several facilities in Cambria County that promote early childhood education. Burns said he voted in favor of the new budget because it did not raise Pennsylvania taxes, but it also invested some of its budget surplus wisely. The money will create nearly 3000 new pre kindergarten slots for, children in Cambria County, and it will give head start facilities an opportunity to cover increased operating costs. More than 37,000 pre k students will benefit from this grant money across the state.
