The warden at the facility reports that 14 inmates and 5 staff members have tested positive for Covid 19. The report also states that masks now have to be worn in two areas of the facility. All infected inmates have been isolated from the others, and those suspected of being infected have been quarantined. Warden Christian Smith said that the outbreak came from two units at the jail where close contact is unavoidable. The prison does provide the Covid vaccine to all inmates, but only when there is enough interest to distribute the vaccine, so as to cut down on waste.
