Question is, how much will impending repairs cost, and where will that money come from. A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that city council said last night it wants to keep the pool open, and will have to work with the Central Blair Rec Commission on how to come up with the funds necessary to keep the pool in operation. But, Councilman Ron Beatty sharply criticized the rec commission for its poor operation of the pool this summer, including poor safety and security measures, no season passes sold and not using pool maintainence equipment at all. Councilman Dave Ellis also spoke out saying that the pool needs proper management. He said that the possibility of hiring an outside firm to manage prospect pool will be discussed.
