WJAC reports that the accident occurred on Thursday night along South 8th street. Altoona police, fire and ems personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the call came in. The report says that the driver failed to make a turn onto south 8th street and Walton avenue, causing him to crash. The unidentified driver died from his injuries. A female passenger in the car was taken to UPMC Altoona for treatment of minor injuries. Police did not release any further information concerning this accident. A small dog also perished in the crash.
