WJAC reported that the trial for both Samson Washington and Devon Wyrick began yesterday. Washington and Wyrick are charged with kidnapping and killing Damien Staniszewski and James Smith back in 2017. The victims were kidnapped and taken to a home where they were beaten for several days. The suspects claimed that the victims had burglarized a drug house in Cambria County. The victims were then taken to a wooded area in Somerset County and shot to death, where they were left. The suspects claimed that Smith and Staniszewski robbed the drug house of money, and the suspects believed the two victims owed them money. The trial is expected to last well into next week.
