According to a report by WJAC, the teacher brought the book entitled “Gender Queer” into her classroom and displayed it on her desk. District superintendent Bob Gildea says that the teacher was told not to bring the book into school, because it is not part of curriculum, or even part of the library system. Gildea in a letter to parents, said that there was no evidence that the book was presented to or read to students. He assured parents that corrective action is being taken, and that the book is not for children of any age. The book has been banned in schools around the country.
