The Altoona Mirror reports that beginning in 2026, some office holders in the county will receive 2.5% pay hikes annually. Currently, the commissioners will receive 2% pay hikes through 2025. The commissioners along with the county prothonotary and register and recorder will each receive the 2.5% increase beginning in 2026. When all is said and done, in 2029, a commissioners salary will be slightly less than $89,000. Commissioners Bruce Erb and Laura Burke voted for the pay hike, while Amy Webster voted no, saying that a 1% raise would have been enough.
