Citizens will be heading out to the polls to, choose a Governor, U.S. Senator, and state house and senate candidates. In our region, incumbents are facing challenges in the 72nd, 79th, 80th and 81st legislative districts and for the 30th District Senate seat. Incumbent Jim Gregory faces Kimberley Capenos in the 80th district, 79th District Rep Lou Schmitt faces challenger Kyle Siskron-Leonard a write in candidate. The 81st District race pits incumbent Richard Irvin against challenger Ian Kidd. In the most hotly contested race in the region, Frank Burns will look to retain his seat against challenger Renae Billow in the 72nd District. State senator Judy Ward will face off against Carol Taylor for the 30th district seat. Polls are open until 8pm tonight.
