Fuel costs hampering business

In a report by WTAJ, at least one business owner in Altoona says that the high cost is greatly affecting his business, but he said that he will not pass along the higher cost to his customers. That business owner told channel 10 that his business books jobs months in advance, and he cannot go back to them and increase the price. Blair County Chamber President Joe Hurd said in the story that if these rising fuel prices continue, businesses could be in trouble. A Penn State supply chain professor said that the dwindling supply of diesel coupled with higher prices will make the winter months very difficult for all. The U.S. is set to ship diesel fuel to Europe, because Russian oil has been banned because of the war in Ukraine.
