A report by Nexstar indicates that the letter contains information regarding some 9 million Americans who have not claimed money from stimulus payments. The IRS says that if you have not yet filed a tax return for 2021, you should check to see if you qualify for some of this money. The letters state that people are still eligible for tax credits, even if they are not required to file a return. However, you are quickly running out of time to file for this potential stimulus payments. The deadline extension expires on November 17th to use a free filing toll online to process these payments. Check your child tax credit, earned income tax credit and recovery rebate credit status to see if you qualify.
