A report in the Altoona Mirror indicates that the city zoning hearing board has granted a variance to allow the store to be constructed on parcel of ground at 6th avenue and 58th street. Neighbors raised concerns that the new store and its variance, would increase already high traffic problems at the intersection, particularly in the alley that runs behind the proposed store. Residents say that many drivers use the alley to avoid the light at 6th and 58th. No timetable was report for construction of the new store.
