Well, according to a report by Nerd Wallet, those who have student loans will have to start paying on those loans in January. The report states that the issue could drag into the courts, which could take weeks if not months to resolve. If that happens, students will have to resume paying on their debts in January and if that happens, there will be no debt relief given to anyone, until a resolution is worked out. For the time being, the Dept of Education is not accepting any new applications for student debt relief until the lawsuits are settled in the courts. And as of right now, no one knows when that will be.
