In a report by WTAJ, county commissioners have said that a county run health department is not feasible at this time, however they would explore the possibility in the future. Had the dept been ok’d, it would have received funds from act 315. The commissioners said that the county can do several other things instead of a health dept that would improve health related outcomes for residents. No other information was released. Centre county spent $12,000 for a feasibility study, which provided information pertaining to the proposal.
