A report from CapitolWire indicates that sen John Gordner of Columbia County has resigned his state senate seat, creating the need for yet another special election. One of the 3 house seats is set for a Feb 7th election to fill the void left by the death of rep. Tony DeLuca of Allegheny County. The other two elections, could also be held on that day or in May if house republicans get their way. The special election for the new open senate seat is scheduled for January 31st. Republican Lynda Culver, now a house member is running for that seat, if she wins, she will have to vacate her seat in the house, which would create another runoff election, and could create a log jam for control of the house.
