Freedom Twp police were sent to Walmart on Plank Road on Monday for a shoplifting complaint. Once there, they encountered 31 year old Chase Washington, who was allegedly opening items and stuffing them inside a jacket he was wearing. Police report that a Walmart employee had stopped Washington and he asked to use the restroom.. An officer followed him inside and thought he was trying to destroy evidence of drugs on his person. Washington tried to run from officers, but was tased 3 times before his arrest. He was charged with theft, possession of what is being called a large amount of suspected meth and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $50,000.
