AAA says that 112 million people are expected to hit the roads, and airways for at least 50 miles to get to their holiday destinations between tomorrow and January 2nd. This is because both Christmas and New Years fall on Sunday, and people are expected to make their holiday journey a bit longer. The PA turnpike commission says that they expect to see higher numbers of travelers on the roadway for the holidays. And gas prices are cheaper than last Christmas, down by 11 cents/gallon. AAA also says that the arctic blast that is expected to hit beginning tomorrow, could impact travel.
