Nurses ratify new contract with UPMC

News reports indicate the nurses union has ratified a new 3 year deal which will include pay raises and other benefits. The pay raises will take effect each of the three years for a total raise of 13.75%. Starting rates for nurses will be $28/hour and for nurses with a bsn the starting wage will be $29.50/hour. The new contract took three months to complete and according to the SEIU. The new deal will also invest more in the ongoing staffing shortage. There is also opportunities for nurses to move up with promotion with financial incentives as well.
