WJAC TV reported that a jury of 12 people, plus 4 alternates has been chosen to hear the trial of Jeffrey Thomas. Thomas has been suspended from his job as somerset county district attorney since he was charged in September of 2021 for allegedly sexually assaulting a Windber woman in her home. The jury selection process took 2 days, with more than 50 people having been selected as potential jurors. They were chosen after filling out questionnaires, and talking with the presiding judge in the case. Thomas is charged with sexual assault, simple assault, strangulation among other charges.
