According to a WTAJ report, the district has announced that it has received new bulletproof vests. School officer Tim Mercer said that the vests were purchased with help from three orgainzations
Fraternal Order of Eagles #1859, the school district itself and the United Veterans Home Association. Mercer said that the vests are a sign of the generosity of community members, and that protection of officers and students and all who work in the district is top priority. Other measures to improve security are underway, such as adding more security cameras.
