According to state police and channel 6, the accident occurred on Friday morning around 5:30. Troopers say that 54 year old Tammy Dunn of Orbisonia was trying to cross Croghan Pike on RT. 522 when she was hit by a car heading northbound on the highway. Dunn was thrown into the opposite lane of traffic after being struck. According to state police, the area had very poor lighting. Dunn was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver was not released.
